Biography:
Michael Heidelberger has just accepted a call to the University of Tübingen to fill the chair for Logic and Philosophy of Science. Before, he has been professor at the Humboldt University of Berlin. His current research centers mainly on the history of philosophy of science of the late 19th and early 20th century, the philosophy of experimental psychology and problems of causality, probability and experiment. Recent writings include Die innere Seite der Natur (a book on the founder of experimental psychology and psychophysics, Gustav Theodor Fechner), Experimental Essays (an edited collection of articles on the philosophy of experiment), several articles on the work of Hermann von Helmholtz and on the mind-body problem.
