Biography:
Born 1929 in Hildesheim
1948 – 56, study of physics in Göttingen
1956 – 60, director of the group “Non-destructive material testing” at the federal railway’s research institute for mechanical material testing in Minden/Westf. From 1960 into retirement, work at the Federal Institute for Material Research and Testing in Berlin, from 1978 onwards as member of the directorate and head of a department with the special fields “Measuring and principles of experimental technology”, “Non-destructive testing”, “Nuclear technology and radiation protection in material testing” and “Joints technology”.
1966, doctorate at the Technical University Hanover
1976, honorary professorship at the Technical University Berlin. Specialist field “non-destructive material testing”.
1970 – 86, committee member and president of the “German Society for Non-Destructive Testing”.
