Biography:
Study of mathematics, physics and philosophy in Tübingen; work as an academic assistant in Mainz, where he also completed his doctorate and Habilitation (post-doctoral lecturing qualification), followed by 3 years in industrial research; professor of mathematics at the University of Gießen since 1988. Since 1996, development of the first hands-on mathematical museum in the world.
2000: Communicator – Prize from the German Research Association
