Biography:
Born in Laumersheim/Pfalz in 1956; 1977-85: study at the College of the Arts Berlin (painting); 1985: started work on the drawing project CS, which has been published in seven sections to date; 1997-00: Drawing projects in cooperation with the graphics collection Albertina, Vienna, the Karl Ernst Osthaus Museum, Hagen, the Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt and the Neues Museum Nuremberg ; 2000: professor of free drawing at the College of Art, Hamburg; 2001: “Artist in residence” at the Wimbledon School of Art, London; 2000-01: drawing projects in Geneva, Frankfurt, London and Shanghai; lives in Düsseldorf

Fellowships:
1986: DAAD fellowship for Zurich; 1987: period of residence in Cairo – promotional prize from the state of Rheinlandpfalz; 1992: drawing fellowship from the city of Nuremberg; 1993: working grant from the German Kunstfonds e.V., Bonn; 1996: Villa Massimo Fellowship, Rome.
